Mr. Imruz holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from, Cardiff Metropolitan University in UK and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Islamic Banking & Insurance of UK, having completed a degree in Islamic Banking. He is also a Fellow member of the Institute Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka and also Diploma Holder of Commercial Banking from Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and followed a Management course conducted at Post Graduate Institute of Management – University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He also completed a course in Money Brokering and Treasury at Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
He counts over 25 years of experience in conventional finance and Islamic finance, having worked overseas. Having entered the domain of Islamic Banking and Finance in 1998, he held Executive position in Amana Investments Limited (Amana Bank) the pioneer of Islamic banking and finance in Sri Lanka., and also pioneered in setting-up Islamic Finance division in People’s Leasing & Finance RPF (Subsidiary of People’s Bank) and headed the division in the capacity of Chief Manager. He’s currently the Head of Islamic Finance/Assistant General Manager for Branch Operation at Richard Pieris Finance Limited. He possesses a wide array of experiences in both conventional and Islamic finance.
